Non-Practising Member & Non-Practising Fellow

The RIAI is a membership organisation, which works to foster and promote union, professional integrity, and honourable practice and relations in the architectural profession. 

The Non-Practising Members and Non-Practising Fellows are Members who are no longer practising architecture but retain their affiliation with the Institute. Non-Practising Members and Non-Practising Fellows are not listed on the Register for Architects.

The Non-Practising Members and Non-Practising Fellows classes are represented on the Council of the RIAI through an elected representative.

If a Non-Practising Member or Non-Practising Fellow wishes to return to practice or provide architectural services the can apply for readmission to the Register of Architects via Route R1. Information on returning to the register is published in Routes to Registration.

To transfer to the Non-practising class, please fill out the Application Form and return it to the Membership Office at membership@riai.ie.
